About Niz Thomas

Author of over 70 stories, the dazzlingly masterful Niz Thomas immerses readers worldwide with his signature blend of tender emotion, diabolically clever plots, and gritty psychological realism that always deliver smart suspense for a stupid good time.

Niz Thomas grew up a fan of The Silence of the Lambs, heist movies, and 007. Not surprisingly, as a kid he wanted to be an FBI agent, a cat burglar, and a spy. He decided to go to college instead and has regretted it every day since.

Along with an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Midnight NYC Flash Fiction Challenge, Niz is a sixteen-time honoree in the Writers of the Future contest, receiving a Finalist designation for his short story "Vida’s Sixth Trip Around the Sun" and several Silver Honorable Mention awards. He is also the author of a dozen novels in a number of genres including the small town suspense tale, Family Tree, the near-future political cat-and-mouse novella, Election Day, and a series of ticking clock thrillers in the Ledgerman universe, as well as over fifty short stories, many of which are collected in his ongoing series of short fiction collections, Nizpatches.
